about Luciene

Luciene Curtis’, known as LuLu to her friends.
Her musical influences are wide and eclectic: jazz, classical, gospel, pop, reggae, and world music.

Her first love is Jazz, a form she says expresses our lives, our history, and embraces all cultures, moving us away from nationality into humanity.

Singing in English, French, and French Creole,
Luciene embodies all that is jazz, and more.

This new album consists of new interpretations of some well known and lesser known classics, alongside four self-penned originals.

Soulful, cool, smooth and funky jazz with a real world
music attitude, this is an album of stories, poetry set to original and authentic arrangements, played by her band
of stellar musicians.

This is not just another Jazz album, this is an album that transcends the ordinary, and puts Luciene Curtis up there with the very best of her contemporaries.

If Jazz can be World Music – this is it!

a note from Luciene
......................................................................................................

I am very lucky to work with and be friends with some very special musicians.

These are musicians I have known and worked with closely for many years.

This complicity is out strength.

We connect in a very special way, we are not producing another jazz album but inviting you into our world of music.

Hoping it will become a part of your world of music.
